make and looks totally cool and fun, then try making your own Marge Simpson
costume. The beloved matriarch of the Simpson family, with her trademark blue
hair and green dress, is one of the most popular comedy cartoon characters in
television. You can make this outfit look great without having to spend a lot
of money.

- Lime green tube dress or
lime green fabric
- Elastic
- Poster board
- Glue
- Blue spray paint
- Red spray paint
- Wooden beads
- Yellow body paint
- Bright red shoes
- Bright red purse
- Fake eyelashes
Step 1: Marge
wears a simple lime green tube dress that does not have adornments of any kind.
Try looking for this type of dress in department stores and second-hand stores.
If you can’t find one, you can make one from lime green fabric and sew into a
simple tube dress. Any sewing pattern for tube dresses will do, which should be
very easy to make.
Make sure the dress clings to your body by putting elastic
around the top. The dress should be a bit loose so you can move around freely.
Step 2: The
trademark blue hair is a must if you want to capture the Marge Simpson look. The
thing is, there's no need for you to dye your blue and have it styled into a beehive.
You can create the hairdo by using poster board, quilt batting, and blue spray
paint.
Roll poster board around your head to get the right fit.
Once you get the right measurements, glue the two ends of the poster board
together. Now get the quilt batting and glue some all around the cylinder made
of poster board.
Let it stand until completely dry then spray with blue
paint. Voila! You now have Marge Simpson's hair.
Step 3: Marge
wears red accessories which complement her lime green dress. You need to find a
necklace made of red beads. This should not be hard to find in costume stores.
You can make one yourself by buying red beads from any craft
stores and stringing them together to form a necklace. Another option is to use
an old bead necklace and spray it with red paint.
Step 4: You have
to wear red shoes and carry a red purse to match the shoes. Buy any pair of
bright red flats. Find any kind of red purse, preferably with no straps.
Step 5: Of course, you need to have that famous
yellow skin tone that the Simpsons have. Before putting on the dress, shoes,
and accessories, put yellow body paint on your face, shoulders, legs, hands,
and feet. Make sure that all exposed body parts will be painted yellow. Let the
paint dry thoroughly before putting on the clothes.
Step 6: Marge
doesn't have too much makeup, but she does have fabulous eyelashes. You can put
on fake eyelashes to create the look. Put some mascara and curl the lashes.
Plain pink lipstick will do to complete the look.
