If you fancy a weird-looking costume for
Halloween and you don’t mind spending considerable effort in creating an
outfit, then you should try dressing up as Edward Scissorhands. To complete the
outfit successfully, you have to pay attention every detail, from your hair and
makeup down to those sharp scissor things attached to the end of your hands.
Since this costume is detailed and will require

Step 1: Edward Scissorhands has belts all around his
body, circling his chest, thighs and legs. This means you should collect around
10 or more black leather belts. To secure the belts that will be wrapped around
your chest and waist area, you may need to sew the belts in place.
To do this, you will need someone to do the sewing
while you are wearing the shirt. This will ensure that the belts will fit
properly on your body. Or you can just put the shirt on a mannequin your size
and do the sewing yourself. After securing the belts, get your pieces of
metallic studs, buttons and buckles and sew/glue them all over the shirt.
Step 2: Do the same with your black skinny pants,
preferably soft leather. Secure the rest of the belts around your thighs,
downwards to your legs. This means tightening the belts to encircle the slim
size of your legs and thighs and securing them in place with needle and black
thread.
Step 3: Edward Scissorhands would not be what he is
without the scissors attached to his hands. To get this look, draw blade
patterns on the cardboard and cut them out. Use metallic spray paint to paint
the cutouts. Now attach these cutouts to the fingers or wrists of your black
leather gloves by sewing them into place or using a glue gun. Duct tape is also
effective in securing the blades to the gloves.
Step 4: You can copy Edward Scissorhands’ wild, unruly
hair by getting a wig with a pageboy cut and applying liberal amounts of
hairspray to it. No need to get an expensive wig, even the cheap ones will do.
Backcomb the wig and use the hairspray to help the hair stay in place.
Step 5: Get Edward Scissorhands' pale, gothic look by
putting white makeup or white face
paint on your face. Use reddish colored makeup to accentuate the cheekbones
and to put shadows under the eyes. Then put on reddish black lipstick.
Step 6: Complete the outfit with black leather boots.
