As novel as this list is, and the above comments, the undead vampire isn't real. It's all just folklore, like werewolves, griffins, dragons, demons, fairies, sirens, succubi; it's all made up. I love how people get so offended over these things. Admittedly though the "twilight" creatures have no bearing being called vampires, they seem more like bizarre fairies to me.

Of all the mythical creatures we write about and love, the only one that has any bearing on reality are zombies. Not just Voodoo zombies, but actual undead. In China a few years ago (and no I'm not just thinking of WWZ) there was a bizarre outbreak where people died, came back and were filled with rage. Now that's something to be worried about.

Get a grip on reality people: vampires aren't real, at least not undead ones. Goth kids that drink blood are not actually vampires.

I'm sorry, but you've clearly never read Dracula by Bram Stoker. As probably the first author to truly define the genre and start the worldwide fascination with Vampires, who are you to discredit his ideas as "false"?

And as much as I hate to admit it, even Stephanie Meyer is allowed to have her own ideas about vampires. They are fictional characters, surely any author that writes about them is just adding to the general vampire lore.

An interesting list, but not all of them are from the movies, and since vampires are not an exact science, I doubt anyone has a definition of a "true" vampire.

Vampires are Beautiful, Sexy Beasts/ Vampires are Always Pale and Colorless: If you look at the old tales from places such as Romania you find that many Vampyre women were beautiful sirens of the night with long raven hair and skin the color of moonlight. They would typically be seen by a river and would ask passerby to help them cross(the old tales said that Vampyres couldn't pass over running water unless carried by man or boat.) If they got close enough she would strike. There's enough an old tale out of Persia of a prince marrying a beautiful ebony(think Aaliyah) woman. This woman would disappear during the day and come back at dusk....soon after the court discovered she was a Vampyre, but when they went to slay her she beat them down and escaped by jumping over the 50ft wall surrounding the castle.(think the movie Aladdin..)
Everything else is pretty accurate....although there some tales of the Vampyre defying gravity, but I can't remember one at the moment....you should probably do some more research before posting a factual like this.

this is pretty stupid. Vampire folklore varies wildly from place to place and era to era. This isn't the kind of criticism that should be made against Twilight, considering how poorly written it is.

Where do you base these facts? Do you only take the orginal stories of vampires? But even so isn't the legends made by people about vampires thus make it true because vampires are fictional creatures. Or do you think that vampires are real if you do I have some bad news =P

O Brother, this is like reading Dracula. Actually, that is a pretty sily book, but great for its time. But this person doesn't know any more about vampires than my cat. Turning into bats????? No one who professes to be a real vampire has ever said they can turn into anything, or if they did say that, then they may also tell you they are the son of God
