About those pine needles, when European sailors came to North America, many of them suffered from scurvy because of their limited diets. This is a deficiency in Vitamin C. What the Natives did was boil pine needles in water, and let them drink it. In days all of the men were back to health. Perhaps a pine needle tea?

#6. The Christmas Truce took place on December 24, 1914, during the First World War. There were other lesser-known truces in 1915 (both British/German and French/German truces). In the second British/German truce, it was said that the two sides played a game of football (soccer).

Let's not forget that the notion of 3 wise men is not backed by any biblical reference. While 3 items were given as gift, the number of Magi is never given. Nor is the country of their origin. So "We Three Kings," while a nice song, is largely fiction.
